The 2007 Track to the Future Fundraiser Auction was a huge success, raising more than $20,000 for the Marymoor Velodrome Association's cycling programs on March 10, 2007. Proceeds from the auction support new rider, junior and women rider development. On a cold and rainy Seattle night, the furthest from ideal conditions for track racing you could imagine, MVA supporters gathered at the Mercer Island Community Center to raise money for a cause they all loved - track cycling in the Northwest. For the second year in a row, the MVA Track to the Future Auction was packed, despite moving to a larger venue in 2007. "If Saturday night's attendance was any indication of interest in track cycling, the MVA will have a phenomenal year in 2007!" said Hyun Lee, MVA Board President.

Saturday Night's event was also made special by the attendance of former professional cyclist and nine time Tour de France finisher Frankie Andreu who regaled the crowd with tales of his amateur racing days and professional days with Cofidis. The event proceeded to the always popular Live Auction with local favorite Auctioneer Jeff Pyatt.

Through the generous contributions from donors and bidders, MVA was able to raise more than $20,000 for its programs to promote kid's cycling classes, new rider and women rider development programs. In 2007, MVA will have programs dedicated to sprint competitions, time trial events, new rider development and women's development in addition to the Wednesday Night and Friday Night Racing at the Group Health Velodrome.
