FSA Grand Prix This Weekend!

Calling all Northwest Track Racers and fans:

The Marymoor Velodrome Association, ByrneInvent Cycling and PSCC/Gregg's Cycling Team is pleased to confirm the 2007 FSA Grand Prix will take place on July 27-28, 2007 at the Group Health Velodrome in Redmond, WA (fka Marymoor Velodrome). Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, including our awesome title sponsor FSA, we are increasing our purse to a $14,000 cash purse.

Last year's FSA Grand Prix was a great success with huge crowds of cheering fans, lots of excitement, and great racing from the likes of Brad Huff, Mike Friedman, Ryan Miller, Kenny Williams, Matt Chater, Matt Barlee, Zak Copeland, Alphonso Whaley, Jennie Reed, Annette Hanson and Jen Triplett. It was a great showing of local and out-of-town racers. The Canadian's even came down in force for the sprint events (taking home a big share of those still valuable American dollars) and to take charge of keeping the beer garden active and loud during the endurance events.

Racing (and of course prize money) will be offered for Elite Men ($8,000), Elite Women ($3,000) and Masters 35+ ($3,000). There will be four sessions: Friday 1:00 p.m.; Friday 7:00 p.m.; Saturday 9:30 a.m.; and Saturday 7:00 p.m. The evening shows will feature Keirins, sprint finals and all your favorite mass start races including the Miss and Out, Scratch, Points and the Madison and a large crowd of spectators (with beer garden). Afternoon and morning sessions will focus on timed events (500m, Kilo, and the pursuits) and a sprint series.

This event will serve as a velodrome championship race (Elite national qualifier) and is also part of Fixedgearfever.com's National Track Racing Calendar.

This is shaping up to be a great show. Whether you come to race, or cheer on the racers, we hope to see you at the end of July in Redmond.
