Come Watch some Racing
Our weekly race nights are host to plenty of exciting racing! We race Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you've finished a class, there's still a lot to learn about race tactics and race formats. There's no more fun way to learn
then to come to a race night as a spectator! Friday Night, the "big show", is every Friday at 7:00. Admission is only $5, and kids get in for free! Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night might not be the "big show", but admission is free, so that's a plus.
Want to start exploring the race night schedule? Check out the race night page and start poking around.
Attend Beginner Practice/Training Sessions
The first thing you might want to do is gain a bit more practice riding that track bike. You might be surprised to know you can ride on the track anytime there isn't something scheduled on the calendar, since it's open to the public. Our rental bikes and helpful track cyclists are only around at certain times. Luckily, we're offering organized times for accessing our rentals for the purpose of new riders practicing on the track! These Training Sessions are open to anyone and don't require any sign-ups. Track bike rentals will be available at first come, first serve basis for $10 each.
Beginner Practice/Training Sessions dates:
After Adult Classes, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, on May 7, May 14, June 4, June 25, July 2
Check our training page for more information regarding other practice opportunities.
Start Racing Thursday Nights
Thursday night is the absolute best way to gain practice at track racing when first starting out. Thursday nights provide the opportunity to race in a pack with a small variety of race formats, all with oversight provided by the MVA to organize the fun. There are no published race schedules, since the program is usually put together based on the racers that sign-up that evening.
If you just finished an adult class, the first two Thursday Nights are on the house! After that, it's only $20 to register for racing, $5 for juniors.
Get your own Track Bike
One of the best new deals we've put together for our members this year is access to some really good track bike deals with our partner Bike Shops. These track bikes are perfect for starting out and they will continue to perform for years to come. Interested in learning more? Contact our partner bike shops directly and tell them you're interested in a Jerry Baker Velodrome starter track bike!
