The MVA is well underway with planning for the 2010 season, and it should be an exciting season!
We are currently hiring for two positions (job descriptions follow):
Monday Night Event Manager
Wednesday Night Event Manager

Monday Night Event Manager
The Monday Night Manager is in charge of the Marymoor Velodrome’s Monday Night Racing Program. The Monday Night Racing Program is developmental, and includes Juniors, Category 4 Men and Category 1-3 racers. The Monday Night Manager reports to the Program Coordinator who reports to the Board. This is a contract position. Compensation depends on experience.
Monday Night Manager Position Duties:
- Coordinate registration and bike rentals for participants
- Recruit volunteers for these positions
- Communicate with the Program Coordinator to plan for the season
- Work with Program Coordinator to develop a sequential racing program that will be engaging for participants as well as spectators
- Print nightly program and bring to racing
- Post updates to the MVA Twitter account with weather updates and race information
- Set up for Monday Night Racing
- Work with USA Cycling Referees to make the “show” run smoothly
- Post results at the track after each race and to the web at the conclusion of racing.
- Tear down and lock-up after racing
- Report to Program Coordinator and Board on progress of event series
The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who loves cycling and who will take ownership of the Monday Night Racing series. The candidate should be familiar with track cycling, event management, sponsorship development and volunteer recruitment. The ability to multi-task, prioritize, pay attention to details and work well with people are critical to this position. Flexibility and the ability to think on the spot are also important skills.
The Monday Night Event Manager position would pair well with the Wednesday Night Event Manager position if a candidate is interested in both positions.

Wednesday Night Event Manager
The Wednesday Night Manager is in charge of the Marymoor Velodrome’s Wednesday Night Racing Program. The Wednesday Night Manager reports to the Program Coordinator who reports to the Board. This is a contract position. Compensation depends on experience.
