Fred’s Race – A HUGE success!

With one more big race to go this season, it’s time to spread the word and get pumped! The Fred C. Rehberger Memorial 2015 Northwest Regional Track Cycling Championships are August 14th, 15th and 16th! With this year’s addition of Elites, the fields will be big and the track will be hoppin’! As a spectator, this is also not an event to be missed – racers from ALL OVER the NW region will be gettin’ after it, the beer garden is open, plus the Saturday Night Sessions is Free Admission!

Registering to Race

The preregistration is live – follow this link to register now! You will register now, pay on site, so please read the below information in order to prepare for payment at the Velodrome. Racers from WA/OR/ID/BC are all eligible for competition.

COST: $50 for all events in one category, masters or elites. $25 for the second category, masters or elites. In other words, $75 covers all races in masters & elite categories. $25 for juniors. It’s an additional $25 for juniors who who want to race elites, or $50 for both junior & elite categories. $20 for single timed events only (Flying 200m/500m/Kilo/2k/3k/4k/Team Sprint/Team Pursuit). Rental bikes are $10 for full day rental and available to category 4 riders only. USA Cycling or UCI international license required to race. All racers must have a current USA Cycling annual license which can be purchased at www.usacycling.org (not for sale at the race). No one day licenses available. All riders must have prior track experience, completed the Marymoor Velodrome track class, or have permission of Chief Referee and/or Race Director to compete. 

Spectating the Race

The usual $5 admission will be collected at the gate on Friday evening, but admission to all other sessions is FREE! Plus, both evening sessions (Friday and Saturday) include our always awesome beverage garden for you to enjoy. Now that’s a sweet deal! Remember, Friday starts @ 7, Saturday @ 6.

In brief, the best spectating is 7:00 PM August 14th and 6:00 PM August 15th. With a beer garden and lots of prizes to give away, you don’t want to miss out on the mass start racing action!

The 2015 Race Flyer (Abridged)

WHEN: August 14th-16th, 2015 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
RAIN DATE: August 28, 29 & 30! Check Twitter feeds for the latest weather and venue updates (@marymoortrack). Check Fred’s Race Facebook page for event updates and questions (http://www.facebook.com/FredsRace).
WHERE: The Marymoor Velodrome located at King County’s Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA. Take SR 520 east to Marymoor Park Exit and follow signs to park. Proceed to velodrome and please park on tarmac next to track. 

WHO: Elite Men Category 1-3, Elite Women Category 1-3, Junior, and Masters 35+ Cat 1-4 Men and Women.To start racing at Marymoor, adults must first take the Adult Intro Track Class and then race Thursdays Nights (Beginner/Cat 5 Track) prior to advancement to other advanced category race nights. Check www.fredsrace.com for other info for specifics on Cat 4 eligibility. All Category 4 racers who have completed the Intro to Track class are eligible for timed events. 

WHAT TO BRING: USA Cycling or UCI License, a fixed gear track bike with no brakes and an approved helmet. Be prepared for varying weather conditions with extra warm clothes. Rental bikes are available for Cat 4 riders only. Tents and shade providing fixtures are also highly encouraged.
