Volunteer Highlight for July

0

You would have to be living under a rock to not have seen the quirky Marymoor Velodrome Association commercial during the Tour de France coverage.  What might surprise everyone (or not) is that the directing, recording and editing were all done by a pair of incredible volunteers, Eric Johnson and Guy Tucker.  How fitting that our dynamic duo of drastically dutiful directors are selected as the MVA’s Volunteers of the Month for July.

Guy Tucker, the featured face of the Velodrome thanks to his leading role in the commercial, was the primary creative mind behind the ad.  And be sure to give him a good “Atta girl…” next time you see him.  Eric Johnson brought his extensive videography experience to the track – running the camera, editing all those takes, and having the directing image to put together the final product… it was very fun to watch these two work together and provide such a wonderful service for the MVA.

If you have no idea about that and how a couch, plum smugglers, and some magically appearing beer are all related, head here and watch the commercial for yourself!

But that’s NOT all! We want to extend another big thank you to Steve Cullen for designing the brand new Marymoor Velodrome Association t-shirts!  And yes, they should be in by this Friday!!! (Fingers-crossed…)  Check out these teaser images below, but know that the colors are not necessarily accurate.  There will be several color varieties available, so come down to the Velodrome and see them for yourself.

Think you’ll be getting one? Bring down your check book – shirts are $25 a piece.

Thanks again to our awesome volunteers!  You too could get a highlight…  Want to get involved? Head here and sign-up online.  Or just e-mail the web admin.
