The Thursday Night Racing series is designed for new racers coming from our Adult Track Classes with the intent of upgrading riders to Category 4. The race night is flexible and designed to meet the need of the riders in attendance, so there are no posted race schedules ahead of the event.
NEW this year! Monday Beginner Nights in May (7th, 14th, 21st) along with Thursdays! Goal is to get riders through Cat 5 quicker and give road riders that enjoy Seward an alternate upgrade night.

Thursday Night Racing is designed for new racers who have completed and Adult Track class. Riders must also have a USA Cycling license and their own helmet/race shoes. Categories/groupings will be flexible in order to better meet the needs of riders in attendance.
Mondays May 7th-21st, Thursdays May 10th - August 30th, 2018 every Thursday (and Monday's in May) with racing starting at 7:00 PM, no racing on July 20th. Registration for racing is required, open from 6:00 PM - 6:40 PM. Arrive early in order pay for parking, register, attach bib numbers, and get adequate warm-up time.
Thursday Night registration, after your first two free classes, costs $20 per adult registrant, $10 collegiate, $5 per junior. Membership is not required for Beginner Nights. Cat 4/5 Men and Women - a racing gear of 86 (48x15) or equivalent of 22' 3" rollout is required of all riders.
Racing License and Fees
- Run under ATRA insurance (no USA Cycling license required)
- Two FREE race nights included with the adult class fee
- Race Fee: Adults $20
- Race Fee: Collegiate $10
- Race fee: Juniors $5
- Annual MVA membership - No membership needed for Beginner Nights. Upon upgrading you will need to purchase a membership. Riders who took the class will receive $25 off the $75 membership.
Rental bikes are available on Thursday nights at a fee of $10/night. Riders that took the class have 5 FREE rentals included in their class fee. Rental bike users must sign a waiver form and keep on file with the Velodrome.
Spectators get in free on Thursday nights!
