The last weeks and days have been quite a whirlwind for all of us. On the back of recent announcements, including from King County Parks, we wanted to share the latest on both the track’s status and our responsibilities as a community.
KCP has clarified that the track is technically open for as long as Marymoor Park is open. Simple. However, we think it’s important to share some guidelines for you to consider.
First, follow health department and Governor Inslee’s guidance and do not have more than 10 people training at a time and maintain six feet of distance at all times. So… no pacelines! Take the wind instead of the exposure. Second, please use extreme caution when considering going to the track, training outdoors, etc.
We know this is hard because riding and training is an important outlet (especially in times like these). However, there is a lot more on the line right now than your placing at one of our weeknight races. It is unfortunately not a dramatic overstatement to say that lives are at stake and each of us plays a role in stopping the spread of Covid-19. Our racing season – and a whole lot more – is at stake, so use your judgment and we urge you to #trainathome.
We’re exploring ways to ‘ride’ together on Zwift so if you’re interested or have suggestions, please get in touch with one of us. Stay safe and keep those around us safe.
