The 2014 USAC Masters Track Nationals are on their way to Redmond, WA this summer, running August 19th-24th.  Registration is already up and running on the USAC website, so 35+ competitors should get registered as soon as possible!

What are the Masters Track Nationals?

USA Cycling promotes and hosts annual competitions that invite competitors from across the country to compete with their peers in various events.  For the track, our 35+ competitors are seperated out into 5 year age groups and then can compete in a wide range of track races over the course of the week.  Races include individual and team time trial events (including pursuits), individual and team sprint, points races, scratch races and even the madison.  Head to the USA Cycling Website for some more in-depth information on the event.

Want more incentive to compete?  The gold medal winner in each event even takes home a champion jersey.  So, let’s get you started on your way to competing in the USAC 2014 Masters Track Nationals.

Step 1: Check the Schedule and Register Online!  Decide which events you want to participate in and complete registration online.  If you have completed it online, all you need to do is show up Monday the 19th and pick up your packet!  On-site registration is available but not recommended – your event might fill up before you get here.  For the full schedule, check the posted schedule on their website.

Step 2: Familiarize yourself with the Marymoor Velodrome.  Our velo is a unique and wonderful place to compete.  Constructed in 1975, the Velodrome is located entirely within Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA.  The track is a 400 meter length track with 23 degree banking.  The large concrete warm-up circle can be seen in the picture below.  Though the 400 meter length brings with it many competitive considerations, one specific feature to draw your attention to is the 500 meter start position.  The start position for this event is in corner four on the apron, pictured below in the upper right corner of the velo.

Step 3: Figure out Lodging for your Stay.  We’ll let you take care of the travel part.  When you get here, there are a number of great places to stay in Redmond, WA so that your commute to the track is short and enjoyable.  Luckily for us, one of our many great sponsors, Experience Redmond, has all the information you need when it comes to checking out the city.  Head to their website and navigate to the Hotels and Lodging page to learn more.  Be sure to browse their other pages for what you can do in your off time/after-hours of course!  NOTE: Marymoor Parks does NOT allow overnight RV or camping on site.
