So, you’ve finished taking a track class… now what?

Whether you’re looking for some more training opportunities, wanting to get more information about the happenings at the track, or just want to get straight to racing, the aim of this page is to help you take the next step in your track cycling journey!

Watch a Race

Our weekly race nights are host to plenty of exciting racing! We race Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you’ve finished a class, there’s still a lot to learn about race tactics and race formats. There’s no more fun way to learn then to come to a race night as a spectator! Friday Night, the “big show”, is every Friday at 7:00. Admission is only $5, and kids get in for free! Monday, Wednesday and Sunday races might not be the “big show”, but admission is free, so that’s a plus.

Want to start exploring the race night schedule? Check out the Friday Night Race page and see what we’re all about.

You may not know this but the track is a public facility. Whenever official Marymoor Velodrome Association events or racing is not scheduled at the track, the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome is open for community members to use. This can be a great way to get some more experience and workouts in before showing up for your next race night.

Do be sure to check the calendar and make sure nothing else is going on around the track.

Start Beginner Racing

Beginning racing is the absolute best way to gain practice at track racing when first starting out. Monday and Sunday Racing provide the opportunity to race in a pack with a small variety of race formats, all with oversight provided by the MVA to organize the fun. There are no published race schedules, since the program is usually put together based on the racers that sign-up for the session.

If you just finished an adult class, the first two beginner sessions are on the house! After that, it’s only $20 to register for racing, $5 for juniors.

Get Connected with the Community

The MVA has some pretty awesome ways to stay connected and up-to-date with all things happening with the JBV. Our community is here to support you, so if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help you any way we can. Our cycling community is full of helpful and friendly people, and we’re excited that you’ve joined us!
