The challenge was made. The Masters accepted. And they have overcome! After several days of competition in Indianapolis, our athletes are bringing back with them a total of 11 medals. Yes, that’s two more medals than our juniors brought home the week before. Once again, experience trumps youth!

Let’s see who all the big names were in competition.
Eric Johnson – Eric, partnering up with Jamie Fitzgerald of Portland, OR, manage a 5th place in the Madison.
Tom Donohue – Racing in the 50-54 category, Tom brings back a Bronze medal in the Sprints and a Silver in the 500m Time Trial.
Jane Chateaubriand – In the 50-54 category, Jane was fast enough to nab a Gold in the Sprints, as well as a bronze in the Team Sprint riding with Karen Claeys (Marymoor rider!). Jane also picked up 4th in both the 500m Time Trial and 5th in the Scratch Race.
Karen Claeys – Karen raced really well in the 45-49 category, winning Gold for both the Scratch and the Points races! Karen also brings home a Silver medal for her Individual Pursuit effort and a Bronze for her Team Sprint ride with Jane.
To celebrate their return, the MVA is hosting a special victory lap THIS FRIDAY, so be sure to come out and toast (and/or buy a round) for your Masters Champs! They have earned it.
