The Marymoor Grand Prix – It’s ON!

That’s right, ladies and gentleman – the biggest race in the Pacific Northwest is about to go down, and it’s happening so soon I can barely contain my excitement (and I know you can’t either)!  The best and the fastest will be on the track in a matter of hours to decide who is indeed the champion of champions, and it’s all happening in beautiful Marymoor Park this weekend.  Read on to learn more about attending the most exciting race of the summer!

Wondering when things are going to be happening?  The ‘big show’ starts both Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 pm, and admission is only $5.  Kids under 16 get in free, so make it a family outing and enjoy the spectacle of speed at Marymoor.  Be sure to come early and get your spot reserved – there will be lots of people clamoring to see the action.  And in case you’re wondering, spectators are welcome to come anytime in the morning sessions free of charge to spectate and cheer on the athletes as they will be qualifying for spots in the evening program both mornings.  Here’s the full schedule of events ->  —Marymoor Grand Prix Schedule

Not only are we hosting fast racing, we’re hosting fast racers too.  Like, Olympian fast.  Silver medalist and two-time olympian Sarah Hammer is going to try to break the long-standing 3k pursuit record set by Rebecca Twigg in 1986.  When I say try, what I mean to say is… don’t miss Sarah Hammer making history, it’s going to be awesome!

Other Olympians coming (yes there is more than one!):

  • Silver Medalist and two-time Olympian Sarah Hammer
  • Two-time Olympian Jame Carney
  • Two-time Olympian Giddeon Massey
  • New Zealand Olympian Rushlee Buchanan

Not only is there racing, but we’ll be featuring our great food and drink sponsors once again to make your night truly AWESOME!  Mac & Jack’s, Patterson Cellars and Seattle Biscuit Co. will all be at the track ready to satisfy your thirst and hunger in ways you can’t even imagine.  Believe me when I say that the best seat in the house is always in the beer garden, and don’t be afraid to make some noise as our champs come around the track.  The beer is phenomenal, the wine is divine, the biscuits are savory, and the racing is true excitement… what else could you ask for?  Make it a night to remember and catch the excitement this weekend at the velodrome and I look forward to seeing everyone out there soon!
