On September 20th, the Marymoor Velodrome will play host to one of the Seattle areas most important and well supported annual fundraisers, the 2013 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.  On their way to completing 60 miles over 3 days, the ladies on the walk will be making a pit stop at the Velodrome during our Friday Night Racing program.  And to help celebrate their efforts and help get their first of three days started in style, the Velodrome will be hosting a variety of pink-themed promotions.  Read on to learn more!

The Susan G. Komen 3-day is one of the nations’ leaders in the fight against breast cancer, with participants raising a minimum of $2,300 to be elligible, more than any other event of its kind.  What’s more, participants walk further than any other event.  Learn more about the event here.

What better way to show your support for these warriors in pink than to join them in their “Coat of Arms” on Friday night?  We’ll even give you free spectator admission for doing so!  That’s right, wear pink on Friday the 20th and get into the Velodrome to watch the racing for free.  Obviously, the 3-day participants also get free entry to watch the racing.

The MVA also wants to join in the efforts to put a stop to breast cancer – all prize winnings will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation in the winning riders’ names.  In case you’re not a racer (or even if you are) and are looking for even more ways to show your support, we’ll be collecting donations for the event at the front gate.

And no worries athletes, Friday Night Season Points will be awarded like any other night.

Friday promises to be a special occassion.  Bring out your pink, open up your hearts, and catch the great racing excitement.  See you there!
