Another great racing event is just around the corner!  August 10th at the Velodrome, the Husky Cycling team will be hosting the “Throw Down in Husky Town”, a fully featured day of racing open to all competitors (not just collegiate riders).  There are some details to go over, so you can either click the image of the Husky below to read the race flier, or finish reading the story to get a couple of pointers.

In case you missed it, here is the link to the race flyer again.

The first thing to take note of is the Collegiate Track class offered Saturday, August 9th at Noon.  The class is FREE to all collegiate racers!  The goal of offering this course is to get collegiate road racers who haven’t tried out the track yet the quickest and easiest way to get class certified and racing all in weekend.  You MUST take this course if you haven’t already taken a class for track riding in order to participate!  Rental bikes available, just bring your helmet and your own pedals.

For the day of the race, August 10th, there will be two sessions of racing, a morning (#1, timed events) and evening (#2, mass start).

  • Registration for Session #1 is $15 and is open to all USAC licensed racers.  Registration opens at 8:00 AM and the first timed event is at 9:00 AM.
  • Registration for Session #2 is $20 and will run USAC and Collegiate combined omnium racing.  Registration opens at 12:00 PM and the first mass start race is at 1:00 PM.

Check the race flier if you want to see the layout of the schedule.  It’s important to know that any and all USAC licensed racers who completed a track class can participate in both Sessions, including Collegiate E/Cat 5 racers!

Hope to see you all out there!
