What do Fred C. Rehberger and really bad hats have to do with each other? Only the funnest event in the track cycling calendar! In only one short week from now, we’ll be in the midst of the “Fred C. Rehberger Memorial Washington State Masters & Juniors Track Cycling Championships”. If you thought that was a mouthful, read on to see all the great stuff planned for August 17th and 18th.
The Fred C. Rehberger Memorial State Championships are an amazing opportunity for Juniors and Masters to come out and try every kind of racing format available on the track, all while racing in age groups competing for medals and prizes. Too cool! You can feel good inviting your friends and family too, because Admission is Free. And in true “Fred” style, there is a Team Omnium trophy up for grabs. Take a look at that hardware…
We at the MVA simply can’t emphasize how awesome an event this is – the schedule is diverse and the atmosphere truly is one-of-a-kind. Everyone comes out to have a great time and that’s what we expect to see again this year. Fred was all about supporting other racers and encouraging people, and that positive environment is what makes this event worth checking out. Even if you’re new to the sport or don’t feel like your in the absolute best shape… WHO CARES!? Come out and have a blast! You might catch yourself setting a PR or taking a chance and going all out for a race you don’t usually do.
On top of this, there is a Beer Garden on August 17th, Kiddie Kilo, Free Admission, a Bad Hat Competition and Raffles. All proceeds go to benefit the Mark Bender Fund and the UW Autism Center. And yes, that means you get a prize for having the best of the worst (or the worst of the best) hat during the weekend, so make sure to sport your look. There really are a lot of good reasons to come out and hang with all of us at Marymoor this next weekend.

Race Flyer
Please click this link or the photo below to link to the Race Flyer on the FCR website for all the nitty gritty details. Most importantly, there is only day-of registration available on Saturday starting at 8:30 AM, so get there and be ready! Don’t forget a tent/canvas as well, as shade will certainly be at a premium at the hot spots throughout the day.
We hope to see you out for the Masters/Juniors State Championships. Besides…
