Dec 9th Board Meeting

posted in: Uncategorized 0

The Marmoor Velodrome Assoication Board would like to cordially invite you, the membership, to our Dec 9th Board Meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Kirkland Library in the big meeting room from 7-9pm. We will be discussing what each of the committees(Finance, Rider Development, Development of Funds and Race Committees) has accomplished so far and what the plans are for the upcoming year among other things. So, if you are looking to see what is in store for next year stop on in!

The Race Committee will host a brainstorming meeting in January, so if you have specific feedback on racing and race formats that would be the place to voice your opinion. Due note, you are always welcome to ANY board meeting! We hold the board meetings the second Tuesday of every month at varying locations. The specific location and time along with any changes to the date will be posted on the MVA Calendar.

The Auction is Comin’ Back!

The Auction is BACK! Oh yeah!!

The new MVA board has decided to reignite the annual auction after a 2 years hiatus. However, we need your help!!! That’s right – instead of all the work falling on one or two super volunteers we want to spread the work out to the teams of Marymoor. We would like to call out the teams that have 5+ racers to volunteer at least 1 person to be a part of the auction committee. Great potential candidates would be people that like to plan parties, have lots of business and community contacts, are organized and have a few extra hours to help your favorite non-profit!

Understand that this auction cannot and will not happen if we don’t achieve a certain amount of participation from the community. We know that our track cycling community believes strongly in the value of track cycling. Now we need our actions to back those values and for us to come together in a big way in order to make this happen.

The goal is to have the auction as a kick-off event for the season to raise funds and therefore reduce racer costs (membership and race fees).

In previous years we have raised $20,000+ for both general and scholarship funds.

The auction consists of a silent and live auction with items ranging from roller parking spots, ski vacations, wine packages, bike frames, paintings and much, much more.

If you have any contacts or anything you would like to donate, we would gladly appreciate your help in the committee or just as a one-time volunteer. Please email back to amara@velodrome.org if you want to contact us about the auction.

The Marymoor Velodrome Association needs your help!

Take a look back at this great year in our Season Recap story from earlier this year.  There’s tons to be excited about at the Velodrome!  With such an exciting 2014 season behind us, we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish next.

Didn’t get your chance to donate to the MVA this year?  Now is your chance!  As a registered 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are 100% tax deductible and can be matched by some companies!

Introducing the Rental Bike Fleet Campaign Round 2

For the second year in a row, the MVA is raising money specifically to get new bikes.  In 2013 we raised $4,000 towards the purchase of new bikes. Our goal this year is to raise the remaining $10,000 needed to purchase the new rental fleet!  Donations of all amounts are encouraged, every dollar counts and is tax-deductable! Donate at the $100 level to receive an MVA t-shirt(while supplies last), and donate at the $500 level let you have your name or a phrase added to one of the newly purchased bikes.  Help the MVA achieve it’s goal this Holiday season and memorialize your contribution on the track of champions

Not all of the bikes look quite this bad, but you get the idea!

Donate Today!

There are several ways you can make your tax deductible donation to the MVA – the easiest way is online through Pay-pal!  Either click the big donate button in the top left corner of the navigation bar on the left, or simply click this link here.  Furthermore, you can send a check, made out to Marymoor Velodrome Assocation, directly to the MVA at:

Marymoor Velodrome Association

#512 16625 Redmond Way, Ste M

Redmond, WA 98052

REMEMBER that a lot of local companies (Microsoft, F5, ebay, Boeing, etc) will match your donation, so if you donate and work at one of those awesome companies remember to submit your donation for matching.
