MVA Board – Looking for Members Now!

It’s that time of year. We are looking for new board members for our 2025 Season!!!

Sitting on the MVA board is a great way to directly affect change within the organization. It’s how we’re able to maintain and grow events like the Marymoor Grand Prix, Fred’s Race, Nationals, our weekly race series and new rider classes.

Deadline for submission is September 8th. The current Board will review the applications and new members will be installed at the September 10th, 2024 meeting. Haste makes waste so get your applications in soon!

The board meets once a month (2nd Tuesday at 8pm). Board members are expected to be active on Slack and emails.

  1. Name
  2. E-mail
  3. Phone number
  4. Any specific committees (racing, fundraising, finance, development) that you would be interested in.
  5. A  personal statement(paragraph) on why you want to be on the board, and what you plan to focus on.

Nelson Vails Visiting the PNW Summer 2019

Thanks to our fantastic partner Vision Tech USA, the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome is excited to pass along some exciting opportunities to meet a living legend of the track cycling community, Nelson Vails.

Nelson Vails, an Olympic Silver Medalist and 2009 inductee into the US Cycling Hall of Fame, will be visiting the Seattle are for a series of “Nelson Vails Nites”. Nelson will be visiting:

  1. Rapha Seattle, July 17th, 6:30 – 9:00 PM, for a meet-and-greet
  2. Gregg’s Bellevue, July 18th, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, for a screening of Nelson’s own documentary film
  3. The Vision Grand Prix, July 19th, 6:00 – 9:00 PM, for a signing session and a silent auction benefiting the Major Taylor Project

Development Grant Fund Applications

Riders seeking development grants from the Marymoor Velodrome Association can fill out one of these grant requests at any time of the year! These funds are intended to help athletes from our racing community make the leap to the next step and make racing and training opportunities more affordable. This includes but is not limited to events like Nationals, Worlds, international racing, ODP Camps, JNTC races, and other similar events.

Funds are provided as reimbursement following the event. Please provide as much as information as you can at the time of filling out the grant.

Please note, recipients will be required to complete a follow-up race report and thank you to the Jerry Baker Velo community after the event.

Track Repair Closure Spring 2019

The track will undergo COMPLETE CLOSURE from April 15 to Friday April 26th. From April 29th – May 10th the track will be closed from 8am-4pm during the week. Thank you for your understanding!

Impacted events:

  • Public access 8am-4pm on weekdays
